I love to eat. I love to cook. I eat therefore I cook. For me, the whole pleasure of cooking lies in the fact that I get to stuff my mouth afterwards.
As my cooking guru Nigella Lawson says taste in food is one of the few things people cannot lie about. You like to eat what you like to eat.–
Unlike Nigella I have no talent for following recipes. I tend to start off with an inspiration and then just run with it. I once made purple soup. Still, I prefer to err on the side of experimentation rather than sticking to the rules because every now and then I concoct something really good and it’s worth every bowl of purple soup.
I hope this weekly roundup from my (tiny) kitchen inspires you to dig in with gusto:
Pancakes sprinkled with blueberries, honey, with a side of sliced bananas. I love big breakfasts.
corn on the cob baked in the oven, smeared with fresh garlic & turbot fish seasoned with fried garlic, onions and dry garlic leaves
paella
white beans sauteed in garlic & fried sweet potatoes
scones and lots and lots of tea
A toast to the cutest sin of all, gourmandise :)

I love to see that young people who have many talents put it to good use. These pictures are stunning and the food looks delicious; I am sure your tiny kitchen will inspire others. Could you send me the “recette” for paella? Ma y son like to cook, actually he is getting very good at it; however, he needs to learn new dishes. Cooking looks so simple when someone else does it.

Yes, in Friday’s gourmande…it’s fairly easy to do :)
