After some rain and snow this week, it seems like Spring is finally settling in!
I’m determined to spend as much time as possible outdoors in the Sun this Spring. I am going to run avidly again. Some co-workers are egging me on to join a mini-marathon; I’m not sure I’ll be ready by the end of April. But there’s only the trying right?
I’ve started working on a new set of photos taken from my parents’ backyards, just in time for Spring. My parents have moved to Spring Hill, FL, a tiny town in the middle of Central Florida. When I first visited them I said, “Why don’t you guys have sidewalks?” Because sidewalks are a big deal to me. It’s hard for me to imagine living in a place that does not accomodate walking. Luckily once you leave the main road and get on some high rain boots you can take some lovely walks around the lakes, go fishing right your own backyard, lay on the fresh grass…
to get here…
But once you are here, a delightful time awaits.
It kind of makes me want to move to the country. But kinda is a whisper compared to the cry in my heart for the city. I love being able to walk everywhere!!
This Spring I’m excited
to eat Clementines until I turn orange
get water-hosing fights with my little brother
wear sandals
bike a lot
I just ran into a 67-year-old woman at Cosi who kindly excused my morning look and pulled me in a conversation. She was lively, quirky and talked as fast an auctioneer. Somehow we fell on the topic of exercise. She attributes her mood and body – which seems to move in an agile ballet of its own, flowing with this woman’s energy -to biking.

p.s…more Spring photos all week long!

I am delighted to see the lake and the butterflies. You are going to make some Florida lovers who are forced to live in some big city somewhere jealous. I have been living in this house for almost 4 years, and today was the first time I experienced the nice breeze coming from the lake while I sat in the backyard for a short break from planting my Mexican sun flowers. I have never really taken the time to enjoy it. I hope your blog lovers will fall in love with them; they will be blooming soon. -Marie
