… flashes of red and yellow.

Speaking of color, if you like Spring and nature walks and beautiful adjectives, you will love Gerald Durrell.

Durrell’s best known book is My Family and Other Animals. It’s a quick romp through the Greek Island of Corfu where Durrell and his eccentric British family moved.  They got tired of the rainy season in England and decided to go on vacation. Once they fell in love with the people, the wine, the landscape, they decide to stay for a few years.  The book is a memoir of the young Durrell’s adventures in capturing and collecting various indigenous insects and animals. He also makes great friendships with the locals.

It’s vibrant, funny, and great for a read in the park.
