One of my college roomates used to paper the walls with catwalks. Long-limbed women striding in unwearable constructs. This is something I know many teenagers did back in the 90s. Paper the walls with magazine pictures, I mean. But I was surprised to find someone doing it in college. So I asked her about it and she told me.
She wanted to be like them. She did not want to wear a little house around her hips as a skirt; she wanted to have the confidence these swaggering models showed.

Nothing is more magnetic than bright hot self-assurance!

Now whenever I see catwalk models or President Obama’s swinging walk, the lines “And if the sun and moon should doubt/They’d immediately go out” come to mind. We are all like that. Brilliant bursts, lest we doubt.

This outfit reminds me of the 90s. The 1990s gave us a lot of tweed, myriad shades and pastels of brown and women with attitude. Remember Salt & Pepa?

I love the leather rope used to stitch this sweater together. Great buy at just 10 USD.
