eudaimonia - a contented state of being happy and healthy and prosperous.

Do you ever have one of those days when you feel like you’re going in slow-motion? And then I realize that’s impossible, it’s my life. Every thing and and everyone has his own rhythms and seasons. Not all the leaves turned brown today. I must go at my own pace, after the direction of my own eudaemon (Higher Self), the beat of my own heart and the manner my soul dictates. My mind, I trust, will help me understand everything that’s essential to a good life.
This is what Fall reminds me of.  The need to turn over a new leaf – yes, it’s a cheap metaphor – but it works.

Summer can be such a boisterous, restless time. Autumn is quieter and so it is a great time to make changes, to choose new behaviors and start them slowly. Making New Year’s resolutions can be daunting but in the Fall it is somewhat easier because it feels as though all of Nature accompanies us in making changes. As I see the leaves lose their greenness, I too feel more comfortable letting go of past habits and slowly taking up new ones. Plus, it will also give me something to do indoors in those cold winter months to come.
